Welcome to the updated Sno-Isle Genealogical Society (SIGS) website! While our web address remains the same at www.snoislegenealogy.org, you will notice a refreshed design that is significantly more accessible on mobile phones and tablets. This transition was necessary as our previous software reached the end of its technical lifespan, and we have taken this opportunity to introduce enhanced features offered by the updated software. If you are a current SIGS member, you should have received an email from webadmin@snoislegenealogy.org with instructions to reset your password to gain access to the member features on our website. If you have any difficulties, please email Lisa at webadmin@snoislegenealogy.org.

Discover Your Family’s Thread in the American Tapestry

Curious about your family’s history? You’ve come to the right place. At Sno-Isle Genealogical Society, we believe that every family’s story is a unique thread in the rich tapestry of our nation's history. As America prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, we invite you to join us on a year-long journey to explore your family’s role in this incredible story. Getting started can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Our friendly
volunteers are here to help you begin to explore your family's personal legacy and connect it to the national narrative.

Our community is ready to support you every step of the way, helping you uncover not just names and dates, but the stories behind them. We invite you to take the first step in discovering your family's thread by connecting with us in a way that works for you:

● Join us for our monthly General Meeting on the first Wednesday of each month, in-person or online, to learn from our expert speakers and meet a vibrant community of fellow researchers.
● Join our Monday morning Coffee Klatch on Zoom every Monday at 10 am. It’s an informal gathering where members are ready and willing to help you with your questions.
● Stop by our research library at Humble House in Lynnwood's Heritage Park from 11 am to 3 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays, plus the second Tuesday of each month. Our volunteers are happy to discuss how best to begin your journey and show you the resources available to help you.
● Join us at our Genealogy Lab at Humble House on the second Tuesday each month from noon to 2 pm. Members and visitors gather to work on their projects in a casual, collaborative setting.
● Download our free Getting Started Packet to begin charting your family's story from the comfort of your home.

These events are free and guests are always welcome.  For more details, please check our calendar or email askus@snoislegenealogy.org.

Unlock the stories of your ancestors, connect with others who share your passion, and see how your family’s legacy is woven into the very fabric of our nation. We are here to help you at every stage of your journey. Take that next step today, and discover just how rewarding your family history journey can be.

Warm regards,
The Sno-Isle Genealogical Society (SIGS) Team

GET BUSY...

Genealogy Lab

Humble House, 19827 Poplar Way, Lynnwood, WA 98036

Our monthly Genealogy Lab is a hands-on environment rather than a formal lecture. We encourage you to drop in with your laptops or devices to work on your specific projects in a casual, collaborative setting. While we will provide a specific "area of focus" each month to spark discussion, the primary goal is for us to help one another troubleshoot and learn in real time. We’ll have the kettle on for coffee and tea, so feel free to bring your favorite mug and join us for some practical, hands-on genealogy.

Brick Wall Sessions

Sno-Isle Genealogical Society is offering researchers an opportunity to get help with their "brick wall" problems on Saturday, April 18, 2026. To make a reservation call 425-775-6267 to leave a message. Your call will be returned later to confirm your appointment. The free 40 minute session is an "in person" appointment. If all 4 sessions are filled you will be placed on a waiting list for the next "brick wall" day. Thank you to Margaret Summitt for leading these sessions. Margaret is an experienced genealogy research who is eager to share her insights, tips, and knowledge to help you break through your brick walls.
