Whidbey Island Genealogy Meet-up

The Whidbey Island Genealogy Meet-up is an informal gathering for island residents to collaborate on family history projects in a hands-on environment. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptop or research materials to work on your specific projects in a casual, supportive setting. Attendees are encouraged to share their expertise, troubleshoot research challenges, and learn from one another in real time.

The public is welcome to attend, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned researcher. While the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society (SIGS) participates in these gatherings, the meet-up is an independent community group. Join us for a collaborative afternoon of practical genealogy and community building.

Before Light Rail: the Seattle-Everett Interurban Story 1910-1939

These presentations will be held inside the restored Niles trolley car at Heritage Park.  Climb aboard and listen to Cheri Ryan and Kevin Stadler co-authors of the Images of Rail Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway talk about the beginning, the middle, and the end of the first rail service to the area. Brick Wall Sessions

Sno-Isle Genealogical Society is offering researchers an opportunity to get help with their "brick wall" problems on Saturday, May 30, 2026. To make a reservation call 425-775-6267 to leave a message. Your call will be returned later to confirm your appointment. The free 40 minute session is an "in person" appointment. If all 4 sessions are filled you will be placed on a waiting list for the next "brick wall" day. Thank you to Margaret Summitt for leading these sessions. Margaret is an experienced genealogy research who is eager to share her insights, tips, and knowledge to help you break through your brick walls.

June General Meeting - Tools and Strategies for Property Research

The Snohomish Library regularly fields requests for research assistance on property in Snohomish County. Nate Cushman, Snohomish Librarian and Genealogy Research Specialist, will introduce the resources and processes he and his staff use to help their customers.

Our in-person meeting begins with a social hour at 6:30 pm for current and prospective members, and guests, where you can connect with fellow enthusiasts, share stories, and ask questions. The presentation begins at 7:30 pm. Online guests are welcome to join at 7:30 at https://bit.ly/SIGSJun26 

History and Heritage Day Tours: Heritage Park Open House

Visit the historic buildings and organizations in Heritage Park including the Lynnwood-Alderwood Manor Heritage Cottage and Museum, the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society, and the NW Veterans Museum.  The 1910 Interurban Trolley car from the Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway will be open for tours. Free and open to the public.
