History of Humble House

The Humble House is the only original building built on the site that has become Heritage Park. The Humble family bought the property in 1934 and remodeled the house, enlarging it from a two-room home to a two-bedroom home with a living room, dining room, kitchen and basement. When you visit, be sure to check out the beautiful Snohomish County quilt pieced together by SIGS member Margaret Summit and "Grandma's Wall" featuring vintage studio portraits of some SIGS members' ancestors.

The Humble House has a fascinating history. You can learn more about the early days of the house by looking at the Lynnwood Today article “Looking Back” and reading about the historical marker. The full story is available at the museum on the second floor of the nearby Wickers Building. Learn more about the history of Heritage Park from the Lynnwood Alderwood Manor Heritage Association.
