Japanese Internment Camps in Washington
During World War II, thousands of Japanese Americans in Washington State were uprooted and confined in internment camps. This presentation explores the history and impact of Japanese internment locally, highlighting the experiences of those who lived through it. Join local historian Kent Morgan to learn more about this important and often overlooked chapter in American history. Kent was born in Illinois, served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, and retired from Boeing. He is a prolific researcher and historian and is the author of three books. Our May meeting is an in-person-only event. There will be no Zoom livestream this month.
