Living Voices Presentation: Fly For Freedom
Date: March 29, 2026 Time: 01:00 PM

Living Voices Presentation: Fly For Freedom

This Living Voices presentation features the little known stories and contributions of working women in the World War II aeronautics industry, amplifying the experiences of Black women through the Rosie the Riveters who build planes in Boeing’s factories, the Women Airforce Serve Pilots (WASPs), the Tuskegee Airmen, and the Double Victory campaign. Using a unique blend of live theatre and archival film, Living Voice brings life to history.

This is a free presentation hosted by the Lynnwood-Alderwood Manor Heritage Association and is open to the public. The Wickers Gallery is ADA accessible. For more information visit https://alderwood.org/events/ or contact the LAMHA at 425-775-4694 or info@alderwood.org

Whidbey Island Genealogy Meet-up
Date: March 25, 2026 Time: 04:00 PM to 06:00 PM

Whidbey Island Genealogy Meet-up

The Whidbey Island Genealogy Meet-up is an informal gathering for island residents to collaborate on family history projects in a hands-on environment. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptop or research materials to work on your specific projects in a casual, supportive setting. Attendees are encouraged to share their expertise, troubleshoot research challenges, and learn from one another in real time.

The public is welcome to attend, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned researcher. While the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society (SIGS) participates in these gatherings, the meet-up is an independent community group. Join us for a collaborative afternoon of practical genealogy and community building.

Thank you to Margaret Summitt for leading these sessions. Margaret is an experienced genealogy research who is eager to share her insights, tips, and knowledge to help you break through your brick walls.

Genealogy Lab
Date: March 10, 2026 Time: 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM

Genealogy Lab

Our monthly Genealogy Lab is a hands-on environment rather than a formal lecture. We encourage you to drop in with your laptops or devices to work on your specific projects in a casual, collaborative setting. While we will provide a specific "area of focus" each month to spark discussion, the primary goal is for us to help one another troubleshoot and learn in real time. We’ll have the kettle on for coffee and tea, so feel free to bring your favorite mug and join us for some practical, hands-on genealogy.
